Walla Walla Walls was founded in 2021 by Detroit native, Lauren Harrington.
For Lauren, print, pattern and decoration have been and continue to be at the center of her life’s passion and creative pursuits. Wallpaper was simply the logical continuation from her 15 year career in the arts, which became centered around fine art printing and a decorative painting practice.
Lauren moved to Los Angeles at 25 and after a year exploration, she found herself working as an artist assistant to renowned LA native artist & screen printer, Richard Duardo. While she was finding a home with the fine art printing process, she began exploring decorative painting and started taking work collaborating on creative projects. A decorative stenciling project at the Chateau Marmont in West Hollywood led to more custom work in homes and restaurants around the country.
After time spent gaining experience in these worlds, she became eager to combine her experience and knowledge in fine art printing and decorative painting and bring her own designs and ideas to the more widely accessible decorative medium that is wallpaper.
Walla Walla Walls was born out of these experiences.
Each collection (with the current exception of our Tarot pattern) started in her studio as original work created by hand using a variety of mediums, including watercolor, block printing, collage & color pencil. She then translates the the art into digital landscapes and creates seamless patterns in contemporary and trending color pallets.
We hope you love our first group of collections and hope you stay tuned for many more to come!
