The vast majority of our art starts out as original, handmade work, unless otherwise noted. We like to get messy for our art and find charm in work that has had hands on it, literally. Our patterns start on paper or canvas using pen, pencil, color pencil, marker, watercolor, marbling, aerosol, acrylic, and collage. We’ve even hand carved and printed linoleum blocks to create patterns that have the unique charm of hand printed wallpapers without the high cost. 

We also appreciate showcasing art work created in the pre digital world and are often hunting in vintage bookshops and libraries for something to scan and bring back to life in a big way. Our Tarot pattern is an example of this. Anyone familiar with tarot cards knows the Rider-Waite deck well. It’s less known that a woman by the name of Pamela Colman Smith was the artist of these images and we wanted to pay homage to her immense talent.
